The farvel project is completed.

With farvel, Jennifer Beitel, Markus Traber and Lilli Berger have spent two years developing virtual 3D memory spaces and staging various events in Virtual Space. The team conducted research during the funding period up to and including September 2022 with the help of start-up grants from the Berlin University of the Arts and the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Two companies emerged from the research results and start-up experiences:

P.S. All rooms, including Mandy's memory room, will continue to be available under farvel.space and will be jointly managed by us.

Room of Remembrance of Lilli's Grandparents

This is the first completed 3D Room of Remembrance called Træ that we designed entirely according to our ideas. We spent a whole year developing until we knew how to design an appropriate virtual 3D Room of Remembrance for a funeral ceremony. It was a long process from the first idea sketch to the implementation, full of discussions and test runs. We would like to thank you for your constant feedback.

Before we talk much about what we were thinking with the complete room concept, you should take a look inside yourself. We dedicated this first room to Lilli's grandparents, who passed away in 2020 and 2021 after a long beautiful life. They both agreed to the use of their images for demonstration purposes while they were still alive. So now we are even more excited to share this space with you in their honor. ❤️

Room for Remembrance for a very Special Person

You can see the interior design of our first farvel.space. A red-leafed tree stands centrally in the middle of the room. Rows of wooden benches float curved in front of the stage, where both the lectern and the picture of the deceased can be seen.
You can see the three wooden framed pictures showing memories of Lilli with her grandparents. Underneath the three pictures, there are last words from family and friends.
